Key Stage 4 Curriculum
OPTIONS – KEY STAGE 4 CURRICULUM
Year 9 Options Evening – Tuesday 17 March 2026 – 15:00 – 19:00
We are looking forward to welcoming Year 9 pupils and their families to our Options Evening on Tuesday 17 March 2026.
This is an important step as pupils begin to think about their Key Stage 4 journey.
During the evening, families will have the opportunity to:
- Meet subject teachers and curriculum leaders
- Learn more about the range of KS4 courses on offer
- Ask questions about subjects and future pathways
- Hear from senior leaders about the vision behind our guided options process
- Access pastoral and SEND support
There will be two presentations in the Events Hall at 15:15 and 17:15, where senior staff will explain how our curriculum supports pupils to make informed and confident choices.
New for 2026, pupil taster workshops will form part of the evening’s design, enabling experiential engagement with selected subjects. Pupils will be able to take part in pre-booked taster workshops in selected option subjects. These sessions are designed to give a practical insight into what learning in these areas is really like. Further information regarding booking will be communicated imminently.
Staff will be available throughout the evening to offer guidance and support, and our Senior Pupil Leadership Team will also be on hand to help families navigate the event.
While the decisions made at this stage are important, they are not about defining a final career path. Instead, they help shape the learning experience over the next two years and support pupils in developing confidence, independence and commitment.
Further details about our KS4 courses can be found in the Options Booklet here:

We look forward to welcoming you.
Good reasons for choosing an option
- Choose subjects you enjoy.
- Choose subjects that you will be willing to work hard to succeed in.
Wrong reasons for choosing an option
- Don’t just choose the ones your friends are doing – there will be a good chance you won’t end up in their class anyway!
