Weekly Message 317 – 16 October 2026
16th October 2026
Looking smart and taking pride in our appearance is an important part of school life at Cams Hill.
We are placing a renewed focus on maintaining high standards of uniform throughout the school day, particularly making sure that shirts remain tucked in and pupils present themselves smartly from arrival to home time. Thank you to parents and carers for reinforcing this at home; these everyday habits help set the tone for the school day and reflect the high expectations we have of ourselves and one another.
Looking ahead to next week, the school photographer will be in on Monday 19 October 2026 for pupils in Years 7 and Friday 23 October is an INSET Day, so the school will be closed to pupils.
Half term runs from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 2 November, when we will return on Week B of the timetable.
As we approach the half-term break, thank you for your continued support. There is still plenty to do in the coming week, and we encourage pupils to keep up their positive approach, make the most of their learning opportunities and finish the half term well.
Post-16 Qualification Changes
The government is changing post‑16 education as the world of work, skills and careers has rapidly changed in recent years and will continue to do so.
In addition to the current qualifications offered at college, pupils leaving school from 2027 will also be able to take V Levels, Foundation Certificates and Occupational Certificates. This document explains these in more detail Parent and Student FAQ.
Pupils in Years 8-11 will have assemblies with local colleges and apprenticeship providers throughout the year where these will be explained in more detail. Miss Vadis (Careers Coodinator) is also available if you have any questions careers@camshill.com
Courses Available from Hampshire Music Service
If your child is interested in music production or singing, they may wish to attend one of two courses put on by Hampshire Music Service during the October half term. Both courses will take place at Barton Peveril College, Eastleigh, and are open to children from across Hampshire. Places are limited, and early booking is recommended.
