Weekly Message 316 – 9 October 2026
9th October 2026
There is plenty to celebrate this week!
Many of our pupils have now reached the first threshold on our praise and rewards programme, earning their Bronze Achievement. This is a fantastic milestone and a real reflection of their commitment, dedication and positive contribution to school life. Reaching this first award is something to be proud of, and we look forward to seeing pupils continue to build on this achievement as the year progresses.
Our Year 7 Power to Progress evening provided a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to meet with their child’s tutor and hear more about how they can support them in school. Thank you to everyone who came along; working together makes a real difference to the experience and progress of our pupils.
We have also continued with our flu immunisations, our Year 11 Autumn Exams are now underway, and we have welcomed many prospective families into school through our parent/carer tours. It is always a pleasure to show visitors the school in action and give them a sense of what makes Cams Hill such a special place to be.
Looking ahead, the Year 11 Autumn Exams will continue next week, alongside our parent/carer tours. A reminder that the school photographer will be in school on Monday 19 October for Years 7 and 11. We then have an INSET Day on Friday 23 October, followed by half term from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 2 November, when we will return on Week B of the timetable.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. There is a great deal to be proud of across our school community, and it is lovely to see pupils being recognised for the positive choices they make each day. Long may it continue!
Open Mornings
We are delighted to offer families of Year 6 pupils the opportunity to visit our school during the school day. The tours last approximately 40 minutes and start at 09.10, 10.10 and 11.30, these run Monday to Friday up until October half term ahead of the final deadline for school applications.
To book a tour of the school during the school day, please phone our reception on 01329 231641.
We look forward to meeting you.
Lost Property
We currently have a large amount of lost property in Reception, including coats, blazers and other items. Please remind your children to check for anything they may have misplaced, or feel free to come to school to see if we have a misplaced item.
We have reunited what we can, but many belongings remain unclaimed. To help avoid this in future, please ensure all items are clearly labelled. Any property left after the half term holiday will be donated to charity. Thank you for your support.
Year 10 Dance Trip to see Moulin Rouge
On Monday evening, the GCSE dance pupils visited the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton; they were enthralled by the touring production of Moulin Rouge from start to finish.
It was a memorable evening, being able to see live theatre and appreciate the energy and emotional journey through the story telling and performers perspectives.
It also provided the pupils with the chance to be inspired for their upcoming choreography task.
Art Exhibition

On Thursday, we hosted our annual Arts Exhibition to celebrate the amazing art, photography, and graphics work from the Class of 2026. Past pupils, their families and friends were treated to a real feast for the eyes.
It was a busy evening, and it was lovely to hear the pupils talking through their own work with their families. We were also delighted to be joined by some of our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering pupils who, along with the rest of their class, prepared and provided an array of delicious canapés for the event which were a triumph.
The quality and quantity of work on display was testament to the hard work and dedication of these pupils, many of whom have continued their creative journey in further education. Pupils across the school will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition during their Art lessons or during break times and engage in conversations with their Art teachers.
Work will be available for collection on Tuesday 24 November 2026. More details to follow.
Sports Results
On Monday, our Years 7/8 girls’ football team ran away 10-0 winners in the 1st round of the cup! A truly dominant performance.
On Tuesday, our Year 7 boys’ football team departed for the hour-long journey up north to Aldershot. The boys were fantastic, creating an endless number of chances and putting the ball anywhere but the net. This resulted in the game finishing 1-1 and going to penalties. A fantastic penalty save and superb penalties gave the deserved victory.
