26th September 2025

As we reach the end of the third full week of term, it has been fantastic to see the school community settling into a positive rhythm, both in and out of the classroom. Our PE fixtures are now well underway, and a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities have launched across all year groups.

Full details of all our clubs and activities are available on the school website and we strongly encourage every pupil to get involved. These opportunities not only enrich the school experience but also play a vital role in developing teamwork, resilience, creativity, and confidence – skills that will benefit our pupils far beyond the classroom.

Paper Birds Workshops

Each September, the wonderful Paper Birds theatre company come to Cams Hill to work with our GCSE Drama pupils. The aim for the workshop is to help Year 10 devise thought provoking theatre, and to help Year 11 to practically interpret scripts. It is one of our favourite days of the academic year with teachers learning just as much as the pupils. It is an absolute pleasure to watch the pupils working creatively together and building their practical toolbox to become exceptional students of Drama.

Year 8 Rugby – Priestlands School U13 vs Cams Hill School U13

On Wednesday, Cams Hill School U13 rugby team travelled to Priestlands School for the first round of this year’s U13 Hampshire Cup. Playing against a well-established rugby school, Cams Hill went into a 35-15 lead with 20 minutes left to play. However, Priestlands larger squad began to make an impact, and they managed to level the score at 40–40 with the final play of the match.

Unfortunately, due to competition rules, this meant that Priestlands won the fixture as they scored the first try, but it was an incredible performance by our team who had a few boys playing their first competitive fixture. A huge well done to all involved.

Flu Vaccinations

A reminder that all parents should complete the flu vaccination form using the QR code below, even if you wish to opt out.

Open Evening Pupil Helpers

Once again, we are blown away by the number of pupils who wish to support our annual Open Evening, either as tour guides, showing prospective parents/carers around the school, or by assisting within specific subject areas.

Please remember to check your inboxes for a letter containing further information about the evening and, most importantly, a consent form for your child to take part. The consent form will close on Monday 29 September 2025.

Please also note that we are no longer able to accept any more helpers, and if we do not receive consent, your child will not be able to participate.

Photo Permission

Thank you to those who have confirmed whether they give permission for us to use photos of their child on social media and our website.

If you have not yet done this, please check the notices section of Arbor where you can double click on the consent and be given the option to accept or decline.  Once you have accepted or declined, you can see an overview by clicking on the “View student profile” button and scrolling down to the “Consents” section.
