Weekly Message 270 – 27 June 2025
27th June 2025
Sports Day
As we wrap up the week, we are celebrating a brilliant Sports Day that truly embodied our core values of courage, courtesy, and commitment. It was inspiring to see pupils supporting one another, showing determination, and competing with such energy and respect.
This week we sent parents and carers a link to an online form as we review our communication strategies. Your input is incredibly valuable as we strive to strengthen our connection with families and make our communication as clear, timely, and as effective as possible. We would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete this short questionnaire before Friday 4 July 2025.
A reminder to parents and carers of Year 10 pupils that the Year 10 Subject Parents’ Evening is taking place on Tuesday 8 July 2025. Please see letter sent on 26 June for specific details with bookings open from 1800 on Friday 27 June 2025.

Sports Day
On Thursday, we held our annual Sports Day. It almost didn’t happen due to the weather forecast; however, we pressed on and the pupils were all amazing! The effort and enthusiasm were contagious and our staff embraced the day too.
Thankfully it did dry out and the warmer weather made an appearance. Pupils participated in end ball, tug of war, football, field events and track events and even a staff space hopper race! New records were set, there was lots of singing and dancing and, most of all, supportive cheering. A Sports Day does not happen without pupils taking part, so thank you to every pupil who took part in an event. Thank you also to all Cams Hill staff – the day could not run without them.
Results will follow over the next two weeks and watch out for the video!
Year 10 Dance Trip – Rambert School
Last Friday evening, Year 10 GCSE dance pupils went to The Point to watch Rambert School’s 3rd Years show. They were inspired and amazed by the variety of work and styles.
Then on Saturday morning they attended a masterclass with dancers from the school. The pupils were challenged but embraced this with a smile and worked solidly for two hours to try and meet the standard of the 3rd Year dancers.
Their resilience and passion for dance shone through as always!
Chess Tournament
On Tuesday, the Chess Club travelled to Fareham Academy to participate in their second tournament of the year. The team has been practicing diligently, and their hard work showed in their performance. Despite a tough match, the competition ended in a well-fought draw. We’re proud of their effort, sportsmanship, and dedication!
A special well done to Sophie, Noah and Lucas, who won all of their matches.
Pride Month Week 4
As we come to an end of June, Alphabet Association would like to thank everyone in the school who has participated in the activities.
Pride Month is not just a celebration – it’s also about visibility, acceptance, and education. For many LGBTQ+ individuals, it’s a time to feel seen, supported, and safe being their true selves.
For others Pride Month is an opportunity to learn and grow. It supports:
- Raising awareness – not everyone is knowledgeable about the LGBTQ+ history.
- Building empathy – Learning about others’ experiences can reduce prejudice and create a more inclusive society.
- Promoting acceptance – Normalises LGBTQ+ identities and shows that everyone deserves respect, dignity, and equal rights.
- Supporting mental health – LGBTQ+ people, especially youth, are at higher risk of depression and suicide due to stigma and rejection.
In short, Pride Month is about love, rights, and human dignity. Celebrating and raising awareness helps build a world where everyone can live openly and authentically, without fear or shame.
