A huge well done to all Year 11 pupils who are taking full advantage of the opportunities available to support them in school with their revision and exam preparations ahead of the final exams. The timetable below has been sent to pupils directly and has been published on our social media platforms.

We encourage Year 11 pupils to fully engage with their revision so that they give themselves plenty of time to practise recalling prior learning, unpick misconceptions, seek support with an area of the course they have found tricky, rehearse model responses, etc and get the knowledge to stick.

We also remind pupils, parents and carers, that the Year 11 Team (Tutors, Assistant Head of Year, Head of Year,) are always on hand to provide the pastoral care that may be needed during this time.

All the very best from the rest of the Cams Hill School community to the pupils taking their Hospitality and Catering exam next week.

College and Apprenticeships Lunchtime Drop-Ins

The post-16 provider lunchtime drop-ins have proved to be a great success and are continuing this term.

Next week, we welcome The Royal Navy who will be on site at lunchtime on Wednesday 17 January 2024 and we remind pupils, parents and carers that these drop-ins are open to pupils in any year group. They will be based outside the canteen, and we invite any pupil to pop along if they have any questions.

INSET Day – Friday 26 January 2024

We remind parents/carers that the school is closed to pupils on 26 January 2024 as it is an INSET Day. This is the annual Fareham and Gosport Collaboration Day with colleagues training together and sharing best practice, across secondary schools in Fareham and Gosport.

Year 10 Parents’ Subject Evening – Thursday 18 January 2024 in school

We remind parents and carers that the Year 10 Parents’ Subject Evening is taking place on Thursday 18 January 2024. The evening will be held in school, and parents and carers should be in receipt of the details about booking a face-to-face meeting with each of their child’s teachers. It is still possible to make bookings if parents and carers have not yet been able to do so.

Teachers are looking forward to the opportunity to feed back to parents and carers on how their child has settled into their Key Stage 4 courses and the progress they are making.

Facilities for Hire

We have updated our Facility Hire page on the school’s website to include dimensions and a price list along with photographs, for anyone interested in hiring a space for clubs, parties, sport etc. Please contact lettings@camshill.com for more information.

A Christmas Carol

Year 10 pupils were given a live performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’ on Monday afternoon. It was an amazing piece of theatre, where three talented actors managed to act all the roles and tell the entire story in an educational and entertaining way. The pupils really enjoyed themselves and our thanks go to the visiting theatre company.
