Year 7                    6.48 points

Year 8                    6.23 points

Year 9                    5.67 points

Year 10                 4.49 points

Year 11                 3.98 points

Second week back and the school is in full swing. As per last week’s message we have focused our attention on pupils being ready to learn by having a pen, pencil and ruler. We ask that parents/carers continue to support their children to meet this expectation.

The Year 10 Parents’ Subject Evening is taking place online on Tuesday 17 January 2023 – details have been shared with parents/carers on how to book an appointment with each of their child’s teachers. This is an ideal opportunity to hear how your child is working in each subject alongside the data provided in advance as well as finding out how you can support their learning at home.

School Council

On Wednesday we held our second School Council meeting of the year, run by the Year 11 Senior Pupil Leadership team, with Mrs Newman (Associate Assistant Headteacher/Head of Year 8) at the helm.  We had an amazing turnout of pupils from all year groups and the pupil voice feedback and questions posed ahead of the meeting were phenomenal.

Questions asked were well received by the Senior Leadership Team for further discussion. Mrs Potts (Assistant Headteacher) answered all the questions on the agenda and then talked to the School Council about the School Uniform Consultation review that is taking place this term.  All stakeholders will be involved in the uniform review to look at the current school uniform policy with a focus on securing value for money for parents/carers.   There will be a questionnaire for all pupils to complete very shortly.

Huge thanks to all pupils who attended for their engagement, the Year 11 Senior Pupil team and Mrs Potts for answering all the tough and interesting questions so well and for Mrs Potts’ presentation to the group.
