In Memory of James Tait

On Thursday 15th February, The Cams Hill School community was devastated following the sudden and tragic death of James, a Year 11 pupil at our school.  We are all still in shock, struggling to understand how someone could be taken from our school community so young.   At school we were in such a privileged position because we all knew James.  He was part of the rich diversity that makes up our school community and specifically Year 11.  James was a character that brought a smile to many faces with his antics and his personality.  He was a ‘cheeky chappy’ and made many people laugh.  He was a good friend to many and we know how proud his parents were of him and how much love they have for him.

After seeking permission from James’s parents we have decided to set up a fund in memory of James.  The money raised will go towards supporting James’s parents to buy a picnic bench or wooden outdoor play equipment for 100 Acre Woods in memory of James for others to enjoy when visiting the area.  This is an area which the family particularly enjoy visiting together.  The school would also like to raise funds to erect a memorial for James.  In the first instance, we would like to buy a tree to plant at the front of the school.  We are also looking to develop a covered seating area for pupils to use at break and lunch times within the school dedicated to James.  This will benefit all members of the school community for current pupils and future generations of pupils who attend Cams Hill.
