Weekly Message
GCSEs have begun with Year 11 pupils sitting their Graphics, Art, Textiles and Photography exams this week. From this point onwards, there are GCSE exams every week. Good luck to all of the pupils involved. It is a stressful time for pupils, parents and staff alike.
This weekend, a small number of pupils are travelling to the Brecon Beacons to participate in a number of challenging outdoor activities. This trip, which is running for the second year in a row, is an amazing opportunity for the children involved- we hope that the weather holds!
There have been mixed fortunes again for pupils competing in sporting events. The Year 9 boys’ football team were defeated in the semi-final of the Fareham and Gosport cup. However, the Year 7 girls’ netball team finished third in the Fareham and Gosport Tournament. Further details of sporting fixtures are on the main website.
Finally, if you wish to purchase nearly-new uniform, you can do so from 3.30-4.00pm each Wednesday. Please phone Main Reception to arrange this if you are interested.

Inter-Schools Debating Competition
On Friday 20th of April, seven Year 8 students went to the Inter-Schools Debating Competition at Fareham College. Six local schools competed against each other and were judged by some important local figures, including Suella Braverman MP.
The competition consisted of three debates with the Cams Hill team taking part in the first debate, opposing the motion that ’Religion is beneficial to society’.
We had two main speakers; Lucy Brown (8A) and Brooke Roberts (8L2), who went on stage to debate against Boundary Oak School. However, it could not have happened without the support of the rest of the Year 8 team: Izzy Gage (8I), Dere Omar (8C), Kayleigh Walker (8L2), Marcus McCormack (8I) and Archie Williams (8I). As a team they wrote the speech together and worked hard to hone their delivery skills.
We were very proud to come third (with only 2.5 marks separating the top 3 teams). We had an excellent day and Mrs Jones (who helped us with the competition), was very proud of our excellent achievement.
Gosport & Fareham Football Cup
Year 9 Boys made it to the Semi Final of the Gosport and Fareham Cup. Our opposition took the game from our hands and ended our season run. Well done to all the boys that have represented our team, on our first outing as a squad for Cams Hill.
Mr R Gunner, PE Teacher
