Soul Band at Wicor Eco-Fayre

As we reach the end of another busy and successful half term, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all pupils, staff, parents and carers for their continued support of our school community.

This half term has provided many opportunities for our pupils to demonstrate our core values of courage, courtesy and commitment. Whether through their efforts in the classroom, participation in the many educational visits and trips that have taken place, or representing the school in a wide range of sports fixtures and enrichment activities, pupils have consistently worked hard to be the very best they can be. We are incredibly proud of their achievements, conduct and willingness to embrace new opportunities.

Our staff continue to work tirelessly to support pupils both academically and pastorally, and it has been pleasing to see so many examples of pupils showing kindness, resilience and determination throughout the term.

As we move into the half term break, we hope that all pupils, parents, carers and members of our wider community are able to enjoy a restful and well-deserved break.

The holiday also provides an opportunity to ensure that pupils are ready to return to school in full and correct uniform, in line with our published uniform policy. As a reminder, school jumpers should not be worn after the half term break. Blazers, however, remain compulsory. As always, we will continue to monitor the weather closely and will communicate any temporary adjustments should conditions require it.

Thank you once again for your continued support and partnership with the school. We look forward to welcoming pupils back after half term, refreshed and ready for another successful period of learning.

Throughout the day, departments across the school organised a range of exciting numeracy activities, alongside a competitive Inter-Tutor Numeracy event. It was fantastic to see so many pupils getting involved with enthusiasm, teamwork, and positivity.

Soul Band at Wicor EcoFayre

On Saturday 16 May the Cams Hill Soul Band performed at Wicor Primary School’s EcoFayre event. The weather held out for a set of Soul classics in the Saturday sunshine. The quality of the performers in the band is always a joy to hear.

Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Assessed Expedition

The Bronze DoE group had their assessed expedition on Friday and Saturday, around Queen Elizabeth Country Park. The weather was much drier than expected, with only passing showers for the groups to contend with. The evening was much better, so putting up wet tents and cooking in the rain. The groups had to complete a project on their way round, focusing on developing team work and including some of the following things:

Taking photos of the animals/plants or countryside,

Photographing all things that fly (planes, birds and insects)

Origami frogs at each checkpoint

Vlogging their journey at each checkpoint.

The pupils were brilliant and the assessors were really impressed with all the groups we took on the trip.

Young Carers and Nexus Trip to Paultons Park

On Wednesday. several of our Young Carers and NEXUS pupils enjoyed a fantastic trip to Paultons Park. It was a great opportunity to spend the day outside in the fresh air and experience the thrill of roller coasters and other exciting attractions such as Ghostly Manor. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with such a wonderful group of young people and heart-warming to see throughout the day real acts of kindness and new friendships forming.
