Weekly Message 278 – 10 October 2025
10th October 2025
Thank you to all parents and carers of Year 11 pupils who attended our recent Pupil Progress Evening. We hope you found the conversations informative and helpful as your child prepares for their Autumn exams in November 2025. Your continued support during this important year is greatly appreciated.
Homework and Arbor
Following feedback on how pupils can best be supported to organise their homework, pupils will now be able to mark their homework assignments on Arbor as submitted once they have completed them. This should apply to all homework assignments set from Monday 13 October 2025 onwards. Any homework assignments which have already been set requiring the teacher to mark submission will be marked as submitted once the due date has passed.
Teachers will not change this mark if it is incorrectly submitted but will continue to award a negative behaviour incident if homework is not completed on time or to an adequate standard. Achievement points will be awarded for homework completed to a good standard, demonstrating the commitment of a Cams Hill Learner.
The following video has been shared with pupils to show them how to mark their homework as submitted.
Fareham Food Pantry
We are pleased to share that the recent food drive for the Fareham Food Pantry was a huge success. Pupils brought in a wide range of food donations, and the generosity shown by everyone involved was truly inspiring.
The donations help to support families in our local community. Every item donated makes a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the kindness and enthusiasm shown throughout the drive.
A sincere thank you to all who donated, your support is appreciated.
Art Club’s Papier-Mâché Pumpkins
As we start the Spooky Season, pupils have been creating a slimy mess this week in Art Club by creating their own papier-mâché pumpkins!
There was a record turnout for this project, with 33 new pumpkins underway. We are working on our pumpkins for another two weeks – up until half term. Next week we will continue adding lots of layers of newspaper and book pages, before we paint them with all sorts of spooky colours and patterns.
Sports Results
Huge congratulations to both the Year 7 boys football team and Year 7/ 8 girls football teams who both secured wins in their first ever competitive games for Cams Hill.
The Year 7 boys played Brune Park and won 3-0. The pupils played exceptionally well as a team, and we look forward to their next game which will be in the Hampshire Cup.
The Year 7/8 girls travelled to Brighton Hill school in Basingstoke in the first round of the Hampshire Cup. In what was a very difficult fixture the girls concluded the match 10-0 winners which is outstanding. We wish them every success in their upcoming season.
