Welcome back after the summer break and welcome to the first instalment of this year’s Weekly Messages.
The Autumn Term and new school year are underway! The start of a new school year is an exciting time. There has been a real buzz about the place in anticipation of what’s to come as new pupils join the school and other pupils move up the school. For Year 10 the Key Stage 4 and GCSE courses have begun in earnest and Year 11 now focus on their remaining months ahead of their exams.
As with every start of a new school year, we have focussed attention on standards and expectations in the knowledge that these lead to all pupils having the best chance of success by ‘maximising learning time’.
What is the Weekly Message?
Our weekly message is a platform to celebrate pupils’ success, contribution and achievement and to highlight forthcoming events and activities. We ask parents and carers to also refer to the school’s website and calendar to keep up-to-date with more specific details about the year ahead.
Clubs, Extra-curricular and Co-Curricular Activities
Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are an important aspect of school life, and we encourage pupils to participate as much as they can in what is on offer.

Welcome to Year 7
We are so pleased with how Year 7 have settled into life in the Cams Hill community. They have had several extended tutor time sessions enabling them to get to know their new peers and tutors and have completed their first run through of Week A. The PE Department also treated the year group to a great team building afternoon where all pupils engaged really well, despite the heat.
We have been impressed with how pupils have embraced starting a new school and the resilience they have shown as they navigated the school to locate multiple rooms, learn new routines and learn about our Behaviour and Learning Curricula. There have been lots of positives as pupils begin to make new friends, get to know staff and start to experience the wide range of lessons and extracurricular opportunities on offer.

We have relaunched our social media accounts to make them more beneficial to our community. Community Projects
The school is excited to declare that from this year we are starting a new community-based project.
The Unity Project is based around our Cams Hill Community, helping to support pupils, staff, and the families of both.
We started last year with our holiday meals and Christmas packages and we are hoping to expand this year with wider community involvement.
From October, once a fortnight we will be inviting our community into the school for an evening meal. Further communication will follow.
