Safe travel to and from school is promoted and supported at Cams Hill School. We remind parents/carers and pupils of the necessity to wear a cycle helmet (correctly fitted) if cycling to school and the importance of using the pedestrian crossings when crossing the very busy A27.

We advise pupils that any non-compliance with these expectations will be followed up using the school’s Good Behaviour Policy and we thank parents and carers for their support in our endeavour to keep the children safe.

Another Amazing Cams Hill Open Evening

Cams Hill School was a hive of activity on Thursday evening as we welcomed over 1,000 prospective parents/carers and children to our Open Evening. We are immensely proud of the 300+ pupils who stayed in school to help – acting as tour guides, subject experts and general helpers for the event. Parents/carers were amazed by the confidence, politeness and warmth of our community and we all feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to showcase our school to a wider community.

Our Head Prefects planned and delivered their speeches, alongside Mrs Harrison-Jones (Executive Headteacher) and were true beacons for the evening – talking through their journeys, experiences and highlights. They were brilliant and, despite being incredibly nervous, spoke with eloquence and clarity.

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed and took part #CamsCommunity.

If you were unable to join us at the Open Evening, please visit our online prospectus. If you wish to book a tour of the school during the school day, please phone the school on 01329 231641.

Soul Band at ‘Hog n Hop’

The Soul Band was invited to perform at the ‘Hog n Hop’ held by Wicor Primary School. This was an amazing opportunity for our pupils to play in front of an audience of 500 people! The band included some of our former Year 11 pupils who came back for one final concert. A huge thank you to them and to Wicor for hosting the event. The band sounded great!

Artwork to Commemorate the Life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

The Art Department have been working with pupils and staff across the school to put together a commemorative art installation in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Lots of people across the world are commemorating Her Majesty’s historic reign and tributes are being paid to her long life.

Using the patriotic colours of red, white and blue, pupils in Key Stage 3 were asked to create a rosette in tribute to Her Majesty’s passion for horse racing. These are now proudly hanging in the heart of the school.

Additionally, pupils across every year group were asked to decorate a small square of paper with a heart and these have been arranged alongside words contributed from Cams Hill staff. These pieces of work have now been collectively framed and are around the school corridors. Both activities, organised by the Art Department, were designed to give pupils and staff a moment of time to reflect on Her Majesty’s reign and to pay tribute to her long life.
