Weekly Message – Issue 14
Christmas Concert
Thank you to all parents, carers, friends and family for joining us on Wednesday and Thursday evening for our Christmas Concert. There is so much talent amongst our pupils. The pupils, singers and the instrumentalists who took part performed so well and we thank them, and the staff, for their unstinted dedication and community spirit. If your child plays an instrument, in school and/or out of school, or is someone who has an interest in singing then we encourage them to join one of our many music clubs and activities which take place throughout the year – more information can be provided by our Music Department.
Christmas Lunch
So 400+ Christmas Dinners were served……! The Cams Hill School Catering Team were fantastic and with faultless organisation produced a wonderful Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings for the pupils and staff who came together in the Dining Hall with Christmas music and Christmas hats. A huge thank you to them as well as to our pupil helpers who delivered the 400+plates of food and did a sterling job clearing away at the end
Photography ‘Walkshop’
On Wednesday 12 December GCSE Photography pupils took part in a 2hr Photography ‘Walkshop’ with a professional photographer. Making their way around the Cams Hall Estate and along the Fareham Creek pupils were shown top tips when taking photographs. The results were outstanding and pupils will be using their location photoshoot work as part of their GCSE portfolio. We are also planning to put up a display of pupils’ favourite photographs from the workshop.
Pupils have also been visited by the awesome Mr Purslow, part-time Science teacher and full-time wedding photographer. Mr Purslow introduced his wedding photography business and talked them through getting the best results when photographing portraits. We thank you very much for giving up your time to talk us through your beautiful work.
“Neighbourhood Police Officers and the Beat Surgery
In the New Year our Neighbourhood Police Officers will be offering a ‘Beat Surgery’ here at Cams Hill. This will enable pupils, parents and carers to have the opportunity to talk individually about any concerns or issues. Watch this space in the New Year for details of how to book an appointment.
