Weekly Message – Issue 6

Thank you to all parents/carers of our Year 7 pupils for joining us in our ‘Settling-in Evening’. Parents/Carers met 1:1 with their child’s tutor to discuss the first 5 weeks of term as part of our transition programme.  Whilst the months leading up to the September start are crucial, we recognise that our input during the first half term is equally as important to ensure a smooth transition and settling-in.  We welcomed the feedback offered from parents/carers which can be used to inform future planning and development and our work with your children. Thank you to all parents/carers of our Year 7 pupils for joining us in our ‘Settling-in Evening’. Should parents/carers have a specific query or concern about their child’s experience in school please get in touch as soon as is necessary, using the contact information on the school’s website, so that a swift resolution can be determined.

Data Checking Sheets

Data Checking Sheets have been sent to all parents/carers of pupils currently on roll.  We ask that these are sent back to school as soon as possible to confirm that the details we hold on our system, including contact details, are correct and to make any necessary amendments where applicable.

Back to Nature Art Exhibition – Saturday 13 October and Sunday 14 October 2018 (10:00 – 16:00)

If you have a spare moment over the weekend we would very much like to see you at our ‘Back to Nature’ art exhibition which combines the work of professional artists with our Class of 2018 GCSE Art, Textiles and Photography Courses. It will also involve entrants and winners of the ‘Cams Creative’ 2018 competition entitled Nature V Machine.

Works from the professional artists may be purchased with a percentage of all sales going to the linked charities, RSPCA and Stubbington Ark and also to the school.  The artists will be demonstrating their skills live over the weekend for visitors to see first-hand how their art work is created.

And finally…….Harry Potter

There was huge excitement this week as Year 11 GCSE Art and GCSE Photography pupils made their way on Wednesday to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. This was an opportunity for pupils to collect ideas and design inspiration for their current project, ‘Fantastic and Strange’. To say that all participants had the best time is an understatement!
