Weekly Message

Today, the school observed a two-minute silence out of respect for those who have lost their lives in conflict. At the end of the two minutes, A. Cain (9A) and E. Sims (8A) played the ‘Last Post’ in the Atrium. It was a very moving moment- if you would like to hear it for yourself, it has been posted on Twitter on @camshillHT.

On Wednesday, 12 Key Stage 3 pupils travelled to Brune Park to take part in a dance festival. Pupils had the opportunity to watch other schools’ performances as well as participate themselves. It was very well-received. Thanks go to the 12 pupils concerned as well as Miss Weston for taking the pupils.

With Christmas not too far away, we are already thinking about the school’s Christmas Dinner which is taking place on Thursday 14th December. Mrs Francis, Catering Manager, has sent out a letter regarding this over the past couple of days. As you can imagine, it is quite an organisational feat to organise a Christmas meal for 400 pupils so a prompt response would be much appreciated.

Finally, good luck to Year 11 as they go into their second week of practice exams and a reminder that the results of these exams, along with updated predicted grades, will be handed out at Year 11 Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 5th December.

Poppy Display – Art Department

The Art department have teamed up with Year 6 pupils in some of our local primary schools, as well as the Fareham Community Church group, KS3 Art Club and many lower school Art classes to produce an exciting and collaborative Poppy installation. Pupils and adults were invited to decorate poppy petals and then a fantastic team of helpers constructed the poppies. The display, the purpose of which is to commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflicts globally, is now in display in the atrium.

Dance Festival

On Wednesday 8 November 12 KS3 pupils went to Brune Park to perform in the Gosport and Fareham Dance Festival. They performed two dances that showed their progression and talent to its best. Alongside their incredible performance the students represented the school impeccably, staying silent side stage, supporting the other schools and acting like complete professionals. Each student had a great afternoon, working as a team and performing with massive smiles on their faces. Well done to all these girls who I look forward to taking to perform on many more stages.

Miss F Weston, Teacher of Dance & PE
