Year 7:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a04.9\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Year 8:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a04.0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Year 9:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a03.6\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Year 10:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a02.75\u00a0 \u00a0Year 11:\u00a0 <\/strong>\u00a0x2.0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So today brings to a conclusion the first half of the Spring Term. \u00a0We hope that you have had the opportunity to read our weekly messages and get a flavour of the wealth of events and activities that have taken place over the last six weeks.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The focus we have placed on positive behaviour for learning in recent weeks has had real impact. \u00a0Following on from this, over the half-term, we ask pupils, parents and carers to remind themselves of the expectations with regards to our school uniform https:\/\/www.camshill.com\/school-life\/practical-details\/uniform\/<\/a> as this will be in focus with pupils when we return to school after the holiday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n For now, we wish all our pupils, parents\/carers and colleagues a restful half-term holiday and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on 25 February 2019.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Year 11 Half-Term Holiday Revision\/Support Sessions <\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Year 10 Parents\u2019 Evening <\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Thank you to all parents\/carers who met with the subject teachers on Tuesday evening at the Year 10 Parents\u2019 Evening. \u00a0A 93% attendance enabled conversations to take place with many of our parents\/carers as we work towards the common goal of supporting pupils to achieve the best outcomes.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rock Challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n 3rd<\/sup>! \u00a0In our second year of entering, and with the 1st<\/sup> and 2nd<\/sup> place going to performances by students in two local colleges, the Cams Hill School troupe absolutely did themselves proud.<\/p>\n Led by Miss Weston, she says:<\/p>\n \u201cRock challenge 2019 was an incredible experience, the pupils worked so hard leading up to the event, but it really paid off. \u00a0The performance was outstanding! \u00a0The pupils really raised their game after seeing the other competing schools during the rehearsals. \u00a0It was an amazing day and I am incredibly proud of everyone involved!\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What do the pupils say \u2026<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cI enjoyed the Rock Challenge day because we got to party and socialise with all the other schools. \u00a0I felt so shocked and happy when they announced our school had got placed third!<\/p>\n Scarlett Young Year 8<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cDoing rock challenge this year was really enjoyable because there were more pupils and more people to get to know. \u00a0In addition, we used lots of props to expand our theme (social media manipulation), which meant there was more stage crew too. \u00a0In my opinion, our theme had a very strong message that was relatable to everyone taking part because social media is a big part of a teenager\u2019s life. \u00a0It made me realise how important it is to be yourself. \u00a0When it was announced that Cams Hill came third, we were all ecstatic as we had all worked super hard since September! \u00a0I guess hard work does pay off!<\/p>\n Catrin Gibbard Year 8<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Coming up …<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Kindness Week 25 February 2019 – 1 March 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Kindness Week will be starting with a secret mission by our Kindness Ambassadors, to spread joy to the rest of the school community … so beware as kindness might just creep up on you!!!!!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We have a number of projects coming up. \u00a0Here\u2019s a flavour:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Random Acts of Kindness day – 17 February 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs McBride has shared with the whole school a kindness challenge for the half term holiday. \u00a0We are encouraging our pupils to think about others in spreading kindness. \u00a0One act of kindness often leads to another and that is the right sort of contagious!!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
