Art and Photography Exhibition

"" "" ""

On Tuesday, Cams Hill School hosted its annual Art, Photography and Graphics exhibition to celebrate the amazing work of the Class of 2023. Past pupils, their families and friends were treated to a real feast for the eyes.

We were incredibly busy, and it was lovely to hear the pupils talking through their own work with their families. We were also delighted to be joined by some of our Year 10 Hospitality and Catering pupils who, along with the rest of their class, prepared and provided an array of delicious canapés for the event which were a triumph.

The quality and quantity of work on display was testament to the hard work and dedication of these pupils, many of whom have continued their creative journey in further education. Pupils across the school have also had the opportunity to visit the exhibition during their Art lessons or during break times, engaging in conversations with their Art teachers with an insight into the breadth of the experiences on offer to our pupils.

Trip to Williams Racing

"" ""

At the start of the day, we arrived (at the Singapore suite) to a bag including a water bottle, a notepad, a pen, and a lanyard. Then we went downstairs to the main conference room to be told about how important STEM and engineering is in jobs. We were then challenged to build a robot driver to drive around a racetrack using an iPad.

After the engineering task, we headed towards the museum to watch a video about the history of Williams Racing. The screen then folded away to reveal a pathway beside dozens of different cars from all the way back to 1977. As the tour ended, we were shown to the esports lounge where there were 30 different setups of driving simulators.

It’s that time of year again … let the battle commence between the Normans and Saxons. Be strategic, be brave and conquer … Year 7 pupils have had a brilliant time recreating the Battle of Hastings in their History classes this week.

This week our Year 7 pupils commemorated the 957th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings by bringing in their finest Saxon and Norman shields, to recreate that fateful day in 1066 when Britain was invaded by the Norman forces. Pupils saw how William’s tactics, Harold’s weaknesses and a big slice of luck all had a part to play in changing the course of history.
