Specialist schools are an important part of the Government's
plans to raise standards in secondary education. The Specialist
Schools Programme (SSP) helps schools, in partnership
with private sector sponsors and supported by additional Government
funding, to establish distinctive identities through their chosen
specialisms and achieve their targets to raise standards.
Specialist schools have a special focus on those subjects relating
to their chosen specialism but must also meet the National Curriculum
requirements and deliver a broad and balanced education to all
pupils.

At
Cams Hill School we value all children as individuals with unique
talents, skills and abilities. We are committed to supporting all
children to do their best through academic, artistic and sporting
achievements.
Over the next four years, our Specialist
School Status will enable us to develop facilities and resources
to enhance teaching and learning across our whole curriculum and that of our
partner schools. We are working towards becoming a centre of excellence
in Science and Mathematics education and to be able to disseminate best practice at a regional
and national level. |
|
Our
largest and longest running Leading Edge project continues
to be our Cams Hill Science Consortium which currently involves
over 30 primary and secondary schools across Hampshire, East
and West Sussex. Working collaboratively with other schools,
we have been able to raise standards of teaching and learning
in science lessons covering all age groups KS1 to KS5. |
