We are very proud of our School Council and the contributions made by its members. 

The Council occupies an important place in school, giving pupils as many opportunities as possible to undertake responsibilities and to be part of the decision making process.

The Council  usually meets twice a term to consider matters raised by staff and pupils.

AIMS

  • to enable all pupils to be aware of their personal responsibility and to make a positive contribution to the general welfare of the school community through elected  representatives
  • to improve communications within the school for the exchange of ideas and the dissemination of information
  • to give a practical education in democratic procedures
  • to benefit the school socially and materially
  • each Tutor Group sends an elected councillor to meetings which can boast an attendance figure of over 90%
  • Councillors report  back to their peers after every meeting
