MARCH 2009 |
On Wednesday March 24, 60 year 1

was made up of hand eye co-ordination skills, target skills,
and a taster of different racket sports. Schools involved
were Castle and Northern Infants.
The sports leaders from Portchester were outstanding on

| TAG RUGBY -
24 FEB 2009 |
On
Tuesday 24 February, pupils from all Cluster Schools
of Cams Hill and Portchester took part in the Annual
Tag Rugby Festival.
All
teams had received five weeks' worth of coaching from Andy
Kirby and all had a good understanding of the
game.
For
the second year running we hosted a separate girls and
boys tournament. Both were represented well with 96 boys
and 60 girls taking part.
The
standard of rugby throughout the day was exceptional
with some very exiting matches being played. Overall, Castle
A Girls' Team and Uplands A Boys' Team ran
out winners.
A
big thank you must also go out to the Sports Leader pupils
who refereed the games. |

| CROSS
COUNTRY - 13 JAN 2009 |
Well done to all who entered the cross-country festival
on the 13th of January. It was an excellent afternoon in
very difficult weather conditions.
In total 210 Year 3 and 4 pupils took part from the following
schools, Castle, Red Barn, Wicor and Uplands. A thank you
must also be extended to the staff and parents of these
schools who helped to organise and transport their pupils
to the event.
The headteacher from Portchester commented that "the
afternoon was an outstanding success and the opportunity
given to so many children was excellent."
Pupils from Uplands commented " It was fun",
"It was tiring but I enjoyed it" and "I loved
it".
From our perspective as SSCOs the afternoon was brilliant.
