Councillor D J Murray
Chairman of the
Board of Governors

The role of governor is a weighty one. It demands considerable time and commitment in order for governors to get involved and engage in the life of the school.

It is only in this way that governors can come to understand the intricacies and complexities of the organisation and have a significant and positive impact.

The Headteacher acts as the ‘chief executive’ being responsible and accountable to the Chairman of The Board, or in his absence the Vice Chairman, for:

  • The running of the school
  • Leadership
  • Strategic vision

The Governing Body, therefore, has the ultimate responsibility for the affairs of the school.
