Pupils from Cams Hill School have created their own works of surreal art and put them together in an exhibition.

The Year 9 pupils, aged 13 and 14, helped create the exhibition called Cams Creative at Westbury Manor Museum in Fareham. The theme for the art is surreal work, inspired by surrealist artists such as: Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte and Man Ray. As well as creating the work, the pupils also helped to plan and put up the exhibition, giving them new skills.

Tom de Wit, museum curator, said: ‘It’s really important because if the kids don’t do it themselves they don’t really see what it takes. ‘They usually only do a small part of it. ‘Having to do the whole thing gives them a sense of ownership. It really gives them skills.’
